The SkyBell HD is compatible with multiple smart home devices and home automation platforms. The Account button is where you go to change your password, add a new SkyBell device, and configure third-party integrations such as Nest, Kevo, and IFTTT. Swiping to the left of any clip lets you download, share, or delete the clip. Each clip is identified by a screenshot and has a date and time stamp. The Activity button takes you to a screen with video clips of Motion, On Demand, Integration, and Button (ring) events. Next to the My Devices button at the bottom of the screen are Activity and Account buttons. Here you can also enable/disable motion detection and set one of three sensitivity levels (High, Medium, Low), select an image quality setting (1080p, 720p, 480p), adjust the speaker volume level (High, Medium, Low), and invite people to access your SkyBell from their own account. This screen has buttons for initiating two-way audio, taking a snapshot, and ending the stream.īack at the My Devices screen, a gear icon in the upper right corner takes you to the Settings screen where you can name the doorbell, enable notifications, change the LED color and brightness level, and enable/disable the indoor and outdoor chimes. Tapping the Watch Live button launches a live stream that you can view in full-screen mode by turning your phone sideways. The My Devices screen displays all connected doorbells by name with their latest captured image. Ring charges $30 per year for 60 days of storage, and August charges $49.95 per year for 30 days of storage. Triggered video is stored in the cloud for seven days, and unlike most smart doorbells, it's free.

#SKYBELL HD BATTERY ANDROID#
The doorbell uses a mobile app (for Android and iOS) to display live and recorded video (a web app is not currently available). Rounding out the hardware specs are a speaker and microphone array, and an 802.11n (2.4GHz) radio for connecting the doorbell to your home Wi-Fi network.
#SKYBELL HD BATTERY FULL#
Last, but not least, the SkyBell HD uses multi-color LEDS to provide full color night vision video rather than the typical black-and-white video that you get with most of the competition (the August Doorbell Cam Pro also offers color night video).

Its 180-degree field of view is wider than Ring Video DoorBell Pro (160 degrees) and the August Doorbell Cam Pro (120 degrees).
#SKYBELL HD BATTERY UPGRADE#
The camera captures video at 1080p, a major upgrade from the original's 640-by-480 resolution. You'll find more on the installation process in the next section, but if you aren't comfortable with a doorbell that requires wiring, the Ring Video Doorbell 2 is a good battery-powered alternative.

It uses your existing doorbell wiring and requires a 10-36 volt AC power source, and it can be connected to your existing doorbell chime box. Included in the box is a double-sided screwdriver, a drill bit, mounting screws and anchors, and a quick start guide with illustrated installation instructions.
